Questions to ask when you visit aged homes
- Are single rooms available or only shared accommodation?
- Is there easy access to well maintained outdoor areas?
- What furnishings and personal items can you bring in?
- Did you receive good written information?
- Are your questions received positively?
- Does the aged care staff appear to treat residents and their visitors with respect?
- What the qualifications are of staff i.e. Registered Nurses, trained carers?
- Is there a meaningful Activity Programme?
- Is there overnight staffing appropriate to residents needs?
- Has the facility achieved accreditation?
